My wife and I took a pastel workshop for the past three days. I had done ONE painting previously, but thought that I’d keep her company and get a few days off work as well. LOL

At any rate, I had three very diferent paintings done. The three on the left are mine. The ones on the right are Gail’s. Some folks wanted to see them, so here they are:

Being critiqued by the pastel master / instructor, Aili Kurtis from the Ottawa area

Old tree stump we saw on our way to Balmoral Castle in Scotland a few years ago.

In an alleyway going down the street in Glasgow, Scotland.

Some of my lupins in my garden this past summer.

Jroot,Your paintings are beautiful . I thought only Gall does it. Where did you learn this art. It is a very healthy occupation for the mind. Can we see Gall’s pictures also enlarged to see details and titles.

absolutely beautiful.
You must be so proud of your accomplishment.

Personally, I’m glad you joined Gail at this class!!

(I, too, would love to see Gail’s creations.)

Thanks Sharad and MsDebbieP. Much appreciated.

I would have to have Gail’s written consent to give a good closeup copy of her work. She is so busy right now preparing for two shows that I doubt she will have the time. I can tell you that her photo on the left is of a windy road in Scotland, and the one on the right is in the Colloseum in Rome. She may be entering it, or both in a show, so one has to be careful.

You are not only a good photographer, a creative gardener but an artist too! I especially liked the lupins. But of course, perhaps all those talents are related. :)

Everyone is an artist – some folks just haven’t found their medium yet.

I too am impressed, Jroot – really like the alley in Scotland.

Wonderful job Jroot, I took four years of art but couldn’t work with oils to save my soul. But I did find that pencil sketches and water colors were just fine, now I am trying to take that craft into a small nature journal but photography is a lot easier and much faster. :-)
