« Part 6: July 31/08 Part 7 of Perennial Garden series no next part

I can’t believe that this rose bush still has two blooms on it.It has had at least two blooms all summer long and is still going strong.I was worried when I cut down the tree and repaced it with my hakuro nishiki willow that I would really disturb the roots. But it seems fine.

Beautiful. I love roses. Too bad, I have such bad luck with them. My father could grow them. Always had the first out in bloom in Stratford, ON and the last to go. He claimed his secret was having a dog who gave him presents, but I don’t recall him putting those “presents” on his roses. He kept that for his rhubarb.

Thanks everyone.
Eklectic…....I started out with sheep manure, then I planted it and put a banana peel just under the soil near the roots but not touching them. Then I give all my flowers miracle grow every week for a month and then every two weeks. That’s all I do. If they don’t like this they don’t get to live here,. ha ha ha

“If they don’t like this they don’t get to live here,. ha ha ha” is my attitude as well. So far, it seems to work.
