no previous part Part 1 of Rose Breasted Grosebeak series no next part

While sitting in the sunroom enjoying an iced tea yesterday I had the most beautiful vision.Right there outside my window was a rose breasted grosebeak at my feeder. I have never seen one before except in pictures.Grabbed the camera real quick and was lucky enough to get some pics.I have two feeders up and he visited both of them all day long.Hope he comes back today.

Hi Bon

Neat isn’t it! :-D
Once they come, they will come back!
I believe you have the couple there!!
After a few weeks, you might actually have a few couples. That is how long it took here when they first started coming!

Yes they are pretty. As for sound, as I am hearing impaired, I haven’t heard this one yet. Might not be loud enough for me but still gorgeous pics!

Hey Bon,
You must be my lucky star: after I answered the last time, I went outside for a break and the female grosbeaks came at the feeder. For a second there was no sound whatsoever except for a “noise” that my husband said was the female calling out!!!

Eklectic… I found the “noise” to be quite distinct.I try real hard to remember the sounds of all the birds but sometimes it’s confusing with mimickers.(lol)
GrandmaT…I never get tired of bird watching .We have so many really pretty birds here in Hastings I just can’t believe our good fortune.

Thanks MsD.
It sounds an awful lot like a robin to me.

Hi Buddy. I saw your 1st Oriole at the feeder while you were out yesterday. It will probably nest in the large leafy tree in you yard. They need a lot of space for their hanging nest.
