Hi everyone.
I am a flower garden nut.LOVE all kinds of flowers and like to have lots of gardens of them.
I just moved to a new home in Dec. 2007 so my first gardens here on this site are from the 2008 growing year.
2008 went really well for my gardens and it sure helped that there were established gardens here already.Of course I had to move a lot of things around and plant what I like but I was very happy with the end results.I even grew tomatoes for the first time this year.Loved them and they will be a part of my gardens forever now.
2009 seen me trying to grow some veggies for the first time. Some did well others didn't.But I sure learned a lot.
For the 2010 growing year I want to try a lot of different kinds of tomatoes as well as some veggies I have never attempted to grow plus the ones that did well last year.

it’s pretty easy to figure out – and lots of fun to explore!!

I’m really looking forward to the planting season. It’s going to be extra fun this year as I share the experiences with everyone here and learn tips/tricks from everyone

Hi everyone: I am having a problem with the map on my home page. For some reason it is way off course from where I actually live.Is there a way I can go back and correct it?I can’t seem to figure it out.

go into your “garden” and click “edit”
then in the map click where you want the red flag to go and voila.. oh and then save the editing, of course.

Hi Everyone: While going through my garden books and stuff I came across one of my favourite flower poems. Just thought I would share it with you all.

Bring Me All Your Flowers Now

I would rather have a single rose
From the garden of a friend
Than have the choicest flowers
When my stay on earth must end

I would rather hve the kindest words
Which may now be said to me
Than flattered when my heart is still
And life has ceased to be

I would rather have a loving smile
From friends I know are true
Than tears shed round my casket
When this world I’ve bade adieu

Bring me all your flowers
Whether pinik or white or red
I’d rather have one blossom now
Than a truck load when I’m dead.

Hope you enjoyed it.

Bon, congratulations on your up-coming, two-year anniversary with Garden Tenders. Your gardens are beautiful and your kind words help make this site a very warm and welcoming place to share ideas, projects and experiences. I look forward to reading and seeing your posts in the coming year! Fun trivia: Did you realize that you share your anniversary with Mario?

It comes from having a seven-year-old son who is fascinated by numbers. He started asking questions about the number of posts in relation to time and we found all sorts of fun number ideas to figure out on the Tenders page. If he hadn’t started asking questions, I probably would never have noticed. : )

I am actually still excited for our container garden and appreciate your reply. Thank you for mentioning cutting the bottoms of my pellets when transplanting into my pots. I was thinking the same thing but did not know if I would be disturbing the roots doing so.
