I seem to have accidently deleted my first entry in my relanscaping blog and replaced it with one about our rainfall. I have just discovered what I did wrong so hopefully it won’t happen again. I did read all the comments and do very much appreciate all the feedback, which is what makes this site so good. Unfortunately most of the plants that were removed from the garden were unsalvageable due to heat stress. Most that are left are natives and love the climate. We are still going to try lots of different types of plants not sure yet what ones. Going to spend a bit of time preparing and adding plenty of compost to break up the very dry ( and sometimes rock hard ) ground. Will keep posting.

too bad you lost all that information from your first blog.
the more natural you go, the more successful they will be at surviving your droughts. Some plants die right back in order to survive and then with a little rain, up they come again!
I’ll be watching to see how you progress.

Good luck with getting your soil better. If you added peat moss it would also help to keep your soil broken up and keep some of the moisture in.
