This is our first house and we are thrilled to be able to garden, but it is a lot of work. This is what we have done so far, since we both work it’s taking a bit of time. We are also on a tight budget so we are growing every single thing from seed.

that maple really looks BIG!
looks like you have a lovely view from the kitchen.
I had to smile at the “please the neighbour’s” comment…

Wow.. That’s a lovely yard and home.. Alot of character there! Loooooooove all the natural rock… Ever think about seeding the rock with a moss/yogurt milkshake to green them up in places?

Debbie, they have a few in this condition :( It’s a bit of an eyesore but they told me they would eventually cut a few and replace them with hopefully something beautiful!!

Sweet place! I love the shingled house and all the stone and brick work. The trees are great too. Keep the faith. Your doing a very worthwhile thing.

With age comes wisdom. ah …. to be 21 again.
Things take time to grow. Don’t look at the short run. If people always looked at the short run, nobody would ever plant an oak tree.
I too have to work for a living and find it difficult to get anything done unless the weekend is nice. If you try to get it all done right now it will be work. I need to do it as it comes. I’m tired of working so hard at trying to enjoy myself. Take the time to enjoy it for what it is.

CV….welcome to the forum! It takes time to get a place looking it’s best, we moved into a newly built house just over 1.5yrs ago, and we both work as well and don’t get back till after 7pm.
I just grabbed the odd evening here and there and weekends to accomplish what has been done to the house and yard so far. Check some of my postings to see what am talking about, especially the thread
“losing my gardening virginity”
Enjoy your stay here

Very nice. I love Rockport. Always try to make at least a couple of visits a year. You have great bones to work with in that yard. It’s going to make a beautiful spot.
