« Part 4: Railing Up Part 5 of Upper Deck series no next part

Well I’m done. This past weekend I installed the top rail and this evening I finished the leg bracing and prettied it up a little. Forgive the pictures as it is dark outside and I wanted to post this tonight.

A close-up of the finished railing.

Here is the prettying up. The metal panels we actually found in someone’s bulk garbage pickup.

So as a recap we have come from here . . .

To here . . . .

To here . . .

Very nice, Zuki. I’ve been waiting to see it, and your deck is indeed worth the wait.

I like the iron work below. I can see some nice clematis or other vines growing up and through them. I can also envision railing planters along those top rails.

Wow! This is nice! Good job, Zuki. Like jroot, I’m looking forward to how you decorate the wonderful iron trellises. What a lucky find for you. They compliment your work perfectly.

Tks all. I really enjoyed building this. I was actually quite nervous when I “lifted” the deck into position . . . no matter how many times I measured and remeasured . . . there was still some doubt.

It was DWs idea about the panels. They do make it look just that little bit nicer.
