My Soapwort has taken over a nice portion of my front rock wall.
Star-of-Bethlehem (Ornithogalum umbellatum) is putting on a show in my woodland garden.
I just finished harvesting the white flowering chives.
Wooly Thyme is forming quite a dense carpet along the sides of the steps.
Pink flowering Alliums add a blush of color to the woodland garden.
Dianthus scents the air with the aroma of clove buds.
Geums add some color to the North side of the house.
And I’ll end off with my absolute favorite flower…The dainty little Forget-Me-Not. I felt this was fitting to edge my memorial garden. The tiny sky-blue blooms add some life to the shaded little garden. It has always amazed me that such a tiny flower could have so much detail, brightness and beauty.

Just love your pictures!!:-)
And the flowers as well!
And I agree with GranT: Forget-me-not’s for the memorial garden!!!
Amazing that my Soapworth is done blooming and going to seeds while my garlic chives have not bloomed yet, and yours seem to be in bloom at the same time: different parts of the country and the same plants have such a different growing pattern!
Keep those pictures coming please!

XO, you sure do have a great eye for photography. All of your images are great!
I’ve also got F-M-N’s, and their color is always striking in such a way to evoke all kinds of great memories…

They also have historic value here in Newfoundland…” The Forget-me-not are traditionally worn by Newfoundlanders on July 1 in remembrance of those Newfoundlanders who died during the First World War. July 1 was chosen because of the high number of casualties suffered by the Royal Newfoundland Regiment on 1 July 1916 during the Battle of the Somme.”

Yes, I do like that historical story associated with Forget-me-nots.
It would be an fascinating blog to record historical stories that we know of associated with the different herbs and flowers.

I agree about historical stories, I love them. One of the local women in the nursery I worked in told me the story of Double Delight Rose. I was fascinated to know that her Grandmother was the women that named it. Her last name was Delight. It’s a double colored rose so, there is where the name came from. I agree all the pictures are beautiful. I’m enjoying moving around this site. Lulu
