I am a grandmother of two boys and I can not do to much due to many surgeries I have had in the last couple of years.I have had sixsurgeries on my neck and back and my bones are very brittle due to the osteoporosis, so I crack ribs quite frequently. It does not do much for the frame of mind I am being trested for depression and the garden is a safehaven for me, until I begin to hurt so bad I need to stop and lay down. I love to work in the yard but can only due a little at a time. I finally convinced my mother to move here to help me but different views on things. I love gardens but growing flowers, fruit or veggies here are very difficult. No rain and extreme heat. Any suggestions?
I am glad to be a part of your group, Thank You.

Hello, Tex. I lived in the Mojave Desert for many years so I have some experience growing plants in arid environments. If you have specific questions, I may be able to help you. Welcome to Garden Tenders.

May I suggest a raised bed garden, perhaps with a bench built around it, think of a picnic table, except the table itself is a garden bed. I have never seen this but it can be built.

That way you can sit facing the garden. And you could get a drip irrigation system that hooks up to your garden hose connection, so you wouldnt have to worry about watering.

Just a few ideas.
