I cannot believe it’s December already! Christmas is just a few short weeks away…could someone please rewind the tape and take us back to the summer? Please?! LOL I feel like I totally missed the summer, and my family didn’t even go on any big trips this year, just one week to Charlotte, NC to visit family. Time does seem to fly by the older one becomes. I never believed that when I was a teen, I just wanted life to speed up because it seemed sooo slow…sigh; who was it that said “youth is wasted on the young”? I think I understand that now. :-)
Mentioning Charlotte,NC, reminded me of a place we love to visit when we’re in that pretty city: Wing Haven. It’s a beautiful piece of land right in the city, in a very beautiful neighborhood. A couple, now deceased, turned their property into a beautiful little haven for birds and other small critters (chipmunks, rabbits, and so forth). They have tons of beautiful plants: trees, bushes, ground covers, flowers…and it is indeed a haven. One feels as though one must whisper while walking along the paths; if you want to see the birds, you must indeed whisper! lol If you ever have the opportunity to be in Charlotte, be sure to visit Wing Haven. You won’t be disappointed. When I get the chance, I’ll post some of the pics we took while there. Such gorgeous flowers!
Okay, time to think about Christmas decorating!

I look forward to seeing your photos of this haven. Remember to not have them too large, so that the folks on dial-up don’t have to wait too long.
Good luck with the Christmas decorating. Fortunately, I have mine done, ... unless my wife decides to go for “even more”. LOL

Hmmmmm, sounds like a very magical place indeed. Thank you for the heads up and glowing recommendation.
Have fun decorating … I always love putting up the decorations (inside of course). House just seems so cozy with the holiday smells, candles and lights. Enjoy!!!

With cats in the house, the tree doesn’t go up til closer to Christmas, but, every day one new decoration goes out in the living room or dining room. Grandson (6) loves coming home and finding the “new” decoration.

as a kid we’d have the house decorations out last friday… I’m hoping to get the tree and stuff out this weekend if we can fit it in. My parents already have the tree up!... This is looking like one of those years I need the days to S.L.O.W. down so I can get ready, and in the spirit. (And we’ve got such a short Christmas season to boot!, what with thanksgiving being so late this year.) Nothing worse than being “ready” for Christmas a few days or weeks late! (of course I’m also trying to get ready for next seasons gardening… So I can ask Santa for all the seeds and stuff I really want!)
