I am a 40-something wife (24 great yrs and counting) and mom (one 17yo lovely daughter who's also my friend). I have loved the feeling of warm dirt in my hands since I was a toddler. I inherited the love of gardening from both my grandfathers, and I will always be grateful for that gift. I lived most of my life on the Eastern Shore of MD, where there is wonderful sandy soil. For the last 7 years, I've lived in northern MD, where there is much clay in the soil. I'm still learning how to work with it, but my labors (and those from the previous homeowners) are paying great dividends. My 1874 farmhouse looks lovely all 4 seasons due to the many trees, bushes, and various other plantings. I also have a very nice vegetable garden spring-fall, which I'm still experimenting with, having planted the whole garden from seed for the first time last spring. I would be truly lost if I could no longer garden!

Eklectic, It is a dream come true for my husband and me (and our teen daughter has learned to love it, too). More my dream than the other 2, but they’ve come to love it as much as I do. I wanted more acreage, but God led us to this 1+acre farmhouse, surrounded by a huge sheep farm (reportedly the largest on the east coast of US), and other farms all around us. So peaceful…I’m truly blessed.

Thanks again, for the warm welcome!

Hi Terri,
In answer to your question, Yes I have heard of Ogdensburg, NY: we actually shop there
very often as we are only 20 minutes away from there!

If ever you visit your relatives again, just pop over!!

Thank You for the nice words!!

I’ve been to Ogdensburg, NY also on my way to see my sister in Mass. I think there was a store there my wife had to see. LOL
