I am recently transplanted to the Catskills from Las Vegas, NV. I'm looking forward to a great gardening season. My Brother and I will be sharing a large plot in the Community Garden in Walton, NY and my Parents have let me take over a 14'x14' raised bed at their home in Hamden, NY. I will also have several containers with herbs. The gardens will be 10 miles apart and very different.

For the last fifteen years, I was living in the middle of the Mojave Desert, in Phoenix, AZ and then in Las Vegas, NV. It took me a few years and a lot of mistakes to get used to gardening out there. My first attempts resulted in disaster due to the excessive heat, soil that has more in common with concrete than compost, and my own ignorance. I finally had success in 2012 with container gardening. You can see some of my video blogs from Las Vegas here on GardenTenders.

I plan on posting more videos and photos this year as I get things started.
