A larger hiatus than expected...

Well… back again, but not for long this time. It has been a particularly rough couple of years and I am no longer in the rental house where I redid the front yard from blog postings past. I am actually 9 months separated from my wife and beginning the road to a divorce of all things… We have just moved in separate directions over the last couple of years and after my dad passing and some other issues that came up, it came to a head and we decided to call it quits. Still very amicable but a difficult transition for us after 16 years. We are focused on the kids, so that has helped us to move forward with their health (mental, emotional, etc) as the focus point. So far we have been successful…

So what in the heck does that have to do with gardening? Well, that means at this point is I am living in an apartment and have no where to garden or woodwork. The city does have a number of community gardens and I did put in for one of the 8×10 plots, but with the money issues that come from separating and significantly reduced hours at work during the beginning of summer, the garden is out of the question.

So with that, I have not been here for a while, but I will be checking in, lurking and enjoying the gardens and projects through your eyes until my situation improves (which will hopefully be by next summer – fingers crossed!)

Be seeing you in the forums on occasion and wishing for a better year for us all!

This is my yearly update and record of what I have done up to this point. Hopefully each year will be a building experience...

Maybe you can start a few potted plants to grow in your apartment. I know that plants can offer a sense of peace and comfort when life becomes stressful. I wish you the best as you work through this difficult time.

Thanks for the sentiment! I am considering something indoor, but have very little sun exposure here AND a freakishly large Maine Coon cat who I think would tend to ‘love’ the plants to death!! I will try it just to see here in the near future. I do miss playing in the dirt…
