New to gardening. My dad always had the green thumb and we used to have a huge vegetable garden (a lot more than flowers) everywhere we lived. Of course, it helped that he raised rabbits and made his own fertilizer with the 'pellets!' Now is my turn to start that, though I have waited until I am 40 to really start playing around with it.

Hi … WELCOME to GT!!! :-)

Sounds like you have some good gardening “genes” from your dad. Have fun with it and don’t be afraid to experiment and even toss if plants don’t take or perform. Good way to learn is by trial and error. I wish you lots of luck as you start … :-)

i too am one try old for hydrophonic gardeing. i just installed albertsons free total picture software it went through my computer and found 10500 or so pictures i hope they come back organized. i know some pictures of my two home depot buckets on a chair over and spill with a chair to floor arangement and a small 600 water pump when i moved it outside to one above two on the ground connected to a feed bucket it lasted longer that was several summers ago the plants lasted though i dont think they like the base i used when the were inside and outside developed weather variables that i lost track of. i felt it was a success though and am looking for some where to do larger scale permanant setting.

Hi Steve. I made you my buddy because I think your climate is very similar to ours here on the west coast of Norway. Wet is the byword. I am thinking that our planting and gardening needs are somewhat the same.
