Oh my.. oh my…
as I was helping Rick put up his latest birdhouse I noticed that I had flowers on my clematis!!! Yes !!! My clematis has survived the summer and is blooming again.. and I hadn’t even noticed.
I’m so used to the clematis dying within days of being put in the ground that I just stopped watching after the first flower wilted away.
Ha…
miracles do happen.
the flower
the setting
the plant, located on the south side of my clothesline pole. It is underneath the birdfeeder and so all the shells/seeds fall down on top of it making a great mulch. I think my plan is working! (In front of the clematis is what I think is called “rue”)

Bu-tee-ful flower … LOVE the purple!!!! Congrats on your success!!! I know you have been trying to grow these. I’m excited for ya!!! :-)
Laughed at your “just kind of forgot about it” ... that was how it was going with that Sweet Pea of mine. Was beginning to think I just had a “weed” growing up the fence … hahahaha!!!!

hmm I’m reminded of a “watched pot never boils”.
Maybe I should do that with all my gardening.. .shove it in the ground and forget about it!

not so hard – just had to put it by the bird feeder!! :)
Thanks re: choice—if I hadn’t seen this particular one at the garden centre I wouldn’t have been tempted to buy one. It is gorgeous
