After all the monthly announcing I’ve done about my picnic, over at LumberJocks.com I just realized that July 13th is around the corner!! My oh my, does time fly!

LumberJocks/GardenTenders Picnic @ Debbie & Rick’s

Date: Sunday July 13, 2008
Time: 1 PM – 4 PM
Location: SW Ontario (Brantford region) I will provide detailed directions to those planning to attend

Join us for a chance to chat and share our woodworking and/or gardening experiences. Rick will have the fire roaring for a bonfire meal (probably hot dogs but we’ll see).

Let me know if you plan on stopping by. If nobody is coming I won’t have to clean the house up! :)

We had one LumberJock attend the picnic. We had a glorious afternoon talking about … everything! :)

Hopefully next time more people can attend.

yes, it was a little disappointing – and it is just as much work to prepare for one as it is to prepare for 20
but, it is what it is and we had a grand time yesterday so I’d say that it was a success

if you are ever going to be in my region let me know and I’ll be sure I’m home!

I am so sorry MsDebbie. I would have come but I was out of the country. Fall is a good time and then we can swap some plants at the same time. !!Fancy seeing Fergus?

Hastings and Fergus it is!

Fergus – anytime. Rick loves to fish by the bridges up there (and I usually take a few dozen photos along the water haha)

Oh what kind of camera are you using? My daugther just got a dslr. She is our photographer. If I didn’t have to contend with the speed or lack there of of dial up I would share more with you.
If you are into birds there is an osprey living just down the road. And did I say that our resident deer had a baby?
Have you ever had corn roasted in their leaves on an open fire? I think that would be a good time to get together.

I have a Konica-Minolta digital SLR.

OOOOOOH osprey. I got a picture once of an osprey flying with an entire corn stalk. Amazing.

OOh yes.. corn roasted in its leaves. Definitely the best way to have it. AND if you freeze the leftover corn, it is the best tasting corn in the winter as well. Actually, I liked it better in the winter than off the cob in the summer if you can believe that!

Let me know when the corn is ready and we’ll be there :)

Yes I know what you mean. I used the frozen corn in a soup and the soup was amaizing.
OK we are on. End of August or first of September. I am away from September 9 for three weeks. And at the rate we do up here I will come back to snow!!!
