A couple of years ago I added a .. hmmm seed? cutting?? Can’t remember, exactly … but a “something” from this plant that was in a potted plant arrangement that I had purchased or was given – transplanted or stuck into my “dancing dolphin or shrimp” plant, whatever that is called. Surprisingly, it has survived.
This year it has gotten quite large…. and pretty. In the past I’ve gotten only one or two flowers on the little stem.

Oh.. and to the left you can see my cumquat #2 plant.

Oh, what a pretty impatiens, MsDeb. And yes, they can be started from either a cutting or a seed. Very good! :)
BTW, my cumquat from you looks like a twin to the one in the picture. :)

thanks for the plant ID … I always hate to post a name but this time I had thought right – nice to have the confirmation! :)
I’m surprised that it is still hanging on… I thought maybe, just maybe it would survive one winter but here it is still growing – and flourishing, I’d say.
Re: cumquat twin: that’s wonderful. Next year we might have some fruit to show off :D

Come spring (and warm weather) you can put your little impatiens outside Ms. Deb, in the shade. It will love it as long as you don’t forget to water it. :)

that’s where it will head—out onto the deck.
As for the watering, well—crossing my fingers on that. You know me and container gardening – not the best combination!
