On “the list” for a couple of years has been to put our old wire dog pen sections around our pool area. This year, it is happening.
We (ok, Rick) dug three holes for posts and then we attached two sections of the dog pen to the posts. We decided to do just one side of the pool at a time. Enough digging, already!!!!
The goal of the fence, although it should be for safety reasons for the pool, it will have another purpose. As for safety, I’m positive that our above ground bladder pool (is that what they are called?) is safer without a fence because you can’t climb over them. A fence gives an invader a “jumping off” point to enter the water.
Anyway, we now have two sections of fence that are going to be the environment for climbing pea and bean vines.
The fence is located behind my “frog pond” garden—three frog sculptures with blue pansies surrounding them, simulating water.
(Too tired last night to take pictures and too wet outside this morning… maybe later today the rain will stop and let me go get a photo for you picture loving people!)

I love the idea of the cliimbing vines Deb … very creative and will look quite lovely with the pool.
It is wet and rainy here too. We so need the rain here though. Nights are getting cold again, actually had to turn the heat on this morning. They say by the end of the week we should be hitting 70’s (F). I asked “the Big Man upstairs” if He could send warm weather for my birthday—hehe!!

oh a birthday present you can share!
The heat is on here as well and my feet are freezing. I’m going to have to burn a little more fuel and get this place warmed up. It’s going to be a long 3 days until we reach ‘warmer” weather again.
I envision that the vines will look nice.. we’ll see in a few months.

I know… mine went into the wash yesterday—after I was done laundry .. but I do have a pair of wool socks around here somewhere. Have to dig it out. My nose is cold and my feet are freezing. I’m not used to this Canadian spring weather haha

it’s our ”stairway to heaven” .. or a conversation piece that makes everyone look twice and then think about calling the men in the white coats for us :)
Yes, it’s for a pool. When my Mom lived here she got the pool but the wobbly little ladder that comes with it was not safe enough in my opinion… she was approaching 80 at the time and had both hips replaced. So we built the stairs. You use the wood stairs to go up and then the pool ladder to get in/out of the water. Perfect.
And then we took the pool down and said, “uh… how are we going to get the pool up in the same location next year? We can’t move the pool after the water is in it and we can’t move the stairs!”
We guessed at the location of the bottom edge of the pool… and have been lucky each year to get it about right. Phew.
Now, the wobbly pool ladder is about to give up the ghost. We have no idea how we will resolve that problem.

it’s my new weeping pea tree.
I had wanted an “umbrella” tree there … I don’t think this is exactly what I wanted but it is what it is
