(Warning: No pictures yet).
This weekend (yes, tomorrow and the next day) the weather is supposed to be SUNNY and a high of about 14C (that’s nice and warm). I can’t wait! Our plan is to get outside and clean up the old and prepare for the new.
Part of the new will be the variety of garden sculptures etc that I have picked up while on our “road trips” in the past couple months.
- obelisk (wrought iron)
- bird (wrought iron)
- feeders/birdbaths (wrought iron flowers) (3 – large, small, medium)
- nest (wrought iron woven “nest”)
- welcome sign (wrought iron)
- a few other wrought iron decorations / hooks
- 3 wind chimes. One very soft and beautiful—will be put up close to the house and 2 that are a little loud so they will go farther away from our seating areas :)
and… some windows!!
When we redid our gazebo (project unfinished) my goals was to have the walls to be windows. There is still room for about 10 windows if we want. I also want to hang some old windows in the gardens as windows into Mother Nature’s world.
Yesterday at one of the antique stores I found two windows for just $6 each. (Usually they have a $20 price tag on them). So I scooped them and smiled.
On our way to our second destination we were heading down a gravel road and stopped to watch a fox standing on an old railroad bed. Gorgeous! And then around the corner my eye spotted something and had MaryAnn back up. Yes, there in the bushes was an old window. When we got out to go get it we found 5 more!! So I now have 8 old windows. 4, I think will be added to the gazebo (2 on either side of the round window if they fit) and that leaves 4 to use in my gardens. Perhaps it will be come a “free standing” wall or part of an arbor or.. oh the possibilities!!
