Neat. Where did you find the peacock feather. Nice curled veneer. ( I think ). Good contrast between it, and the darker walnut ( I think ).

Rick and I flyfish and we tie our own flies.. so the feather was from our “supplies”.

Yes, curled veneer (I used a curling iron to do the job) and yes, the centre is walnut.

Nice work.. :) I been so busy around the house doing anything BUT gardening.. Got a new R4511 table saw before it went on closeout so been getting it set to do more work. One fireplace down and a pile of cabinets and shelves (for 4 or 5 rooms) to go.

It is good to hear from you again, Scott. I was wondering what you were up to. Now we know – cabinetry.

I have given my response at the right place. Just out of curiosity what was your role in this?

Beautiful creation, Debbie. I enjoyed reading your blog about curling the veneer. I wanted to post a comment but I don’t have a login there. (Yes I “lurk” on LJ. I am addicted to Brian Meeks’ daily blogs.)

this is quite an accomplishment for me and I am very proud of it. I’m still not sure where it will hang. I want to be able to see it easily.

Definately an original, MsDeb. I especially like the symbolism, as you described it.

at first I didnt know what it was, nor what it was made of so I read your LJ description. looked at it a little closer, and then thought….......”r u joking me?, did you really make that or did you buy that?” cuz thats very nice. An excellent sculpture representing “Ying and Yang”. It really does capture nature, hope, and dreams.

Nice.

is that a “peacock” feather?

I read that the cape feather from the chicken, “Red Sex Link” make for awesome “flys”. I’ve read it enough that it stuck in my head. I could mail you some.
