Retired in 2003. Keep active in my wood working shop as well as trying to tend to my North Carolina home, located in the mountains of western North Carolina and summer home in Landrum Sc.
My wood shop is located in South Carolina and spend most of my time in South Carolina. Have 8.7 acres in North Carolina, all wooded, and 11 acres in South Carolina which is at the foot of the North Carolina mountains. Only a few miles from the North Carolina line.
Considered myself blessed to be able to live in such a beautiful area and enjoy the beauty of the mountains as well as low land of Landrum Sc. I am divorced but in a great relationship with a dear friend. Susan and I have been friends for years and we share the same home in South Carolina. God greatly blessed me when he sent Susan my way. We get along great and couldn't ask for anyone any better to share my remaining years with.
Now my interest in this site. Having so much property to take care of I am always looking for more trees to plant, mor garden and yard plants, and just love working in the soil. Over the past several years we have cleared a lot of the South Carolina land and turned what used to be land grown up with brush into a bigger yard. Yards as you know require a lot of work and upkeep.
I have always loved trees and flowers but my knowledge isn't what you would say is great but I spend a lot of time reading and trying to educate myself. I have found this site to be very education and will continue reading post as well as looking to see what you guys are doing with you garden and yards.
My long term plans is to start a home based nursery. Not a business per say but to continue to grow plants and tress for both homes as well as be able to sell to local people to bring in some income so that I can continue to purchase trees and plants.
Well I am sure I have bored you enough so want go into any more details but glad do answer any questions you may have.
