Kitty Cat

Kitty Cat came back and I think now has officially moved in, my Internet was down the past two days so I could not post sooner. I am not sure if Kitty will be a permanent resident, I hope so. While I am back online though, does anyone know about Red Trailing Ice Plant, I am not sure it classified name, its a succulent. My question is does it allow for any other kinds of grass and weeds to grow ??

Kitty Cat, this morning

Hello
When I went outside this morning Kitty Cat was gone, and I have not seen it since. I wish Kitty had stayed, maybe it will come back.
I have been reading the posts and yes I completely agree all pets should be kept in the house and spayed or neutered. That is now law in LA county so if you have a registered pet you dont have much choice in the matter. I have never had a “pet” cat of my own, I only know people who do and they keep their cats in the house, as I do with my dog, he only goes out to do his business or if I happen to be outside for the day or something like that, he does not like to go out alone anyway, his eyesight is not what it used to be. I just wish the leash laws applied to cats and were more enforced for dogs, it would make life alot easier to be able to go to the park and not have to dodge out a thousand dogs not on a leash when there is a dog park not just on the other side of the street, from the local park. If you say something to these people it then becomes your fault and you are in the wrong.

I will keep the box their in case Kitty Cat comes back today, or if anyone else wants to stay in it for a while.
With the rest of the wood, I will make a platform for my flowers, I have to do this before the heat of the summer bakes their roots from the hot concrete out there. I have also been thiking about making a shade cover for them, they are all sun loving plants but in the late summer it can be very brutal here for anything plant or animal or even person.

All the squirrels and birds are here this morning so I dont think there are any cats around, I just hope Kitty Cat is ok.

Update on Kitty Cat

Well as you can see Kitty Cat now has a name :) I always find a name for all my furry and feathery friends. Anyway I went to the garden store, I needed to go anyway. I got some 2×4’s and a flat piece of plywood and I was hammering most of the afternoon, I built a box for Kitty Cat to stay in. I think it will drizzle tonight and the wind is very cold. I put it right outside the door, I still need to ask my dog just exactly how he feels about this but from what I can tell he is not happy. Well while I was the talk of the neighborhood I was in the front doing this and little did I know that Kitty Cat had been watching me the whole time, I am so used to animals watching I just learn to expect it. When I finished I heard a tiny little meow behind me and I jumped because I really did not expect a stray to be so close when I started all the pounding. Kitty Cat is now in the box just outside the front door under the overhang. I fed Kitty Cat again, I am not sure how long it will stay but for now I dont have to wonder all night about where it is. If it will let me I will try to take a picture of it, I will warn you now though its not a very pretty sight. If I could ask a favor of all who are reading this though, could you all please keep in your thoughts and prayers all the stray and abused animals who are not so fortunate all over the world. I always pray for them but maybe more people doing that will help them a bit more, they need a voice, and the same too for all abused children, they also need a voice to speak for them as well. Good Night

New Kitty Around

I have not posted in a bit, still trying to get the upper hand on my inbox, but as I was just busy clicking away, I just looked out the window and saw this beautiful young black cat with the cutest one white foot in the back. I have had some extra cat food I was wanting to get rid of so I ran and got it and went outside to see if I could catch the cat before it left. Well I managed to get out and put down some food and this beautiful creature turned and looked at me and that is when I saw someone had horribly mutilated this poor creature, its face had been burned and its missing an eye, and the eye that is there is very cloudy and hazy. I was a bit stunned at first, I keep forgetting how cruel people can be. These wounds are apparently old ones. So anyway I called Kitty Cat because it would not come near me understandibly so, so I just kept calling it in a gentle voice, Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat and then it started to come to me so I put some food further near it so it could smell it, and then I carefully and quietly sat on the step. Kitty came over and ate some food very weary of me, I shook the bag of food and put down some more and kitty came and at some more and then came right up next to me and sat beside me. Its fur was so soft, when it allowed me to touch it. That one single moment was indeed one of the most beautiful moments in my life, as I sit here I am just in tears. I hope Kitty comes back to make friends. Needless to say my dog is a bit angry with me just at the moment, but he will be getting his fave food soon, to make up.

Summer Mosquitos

Does anyone know of any plants that naturally repel mosquitos?
And is there any way to keep fleas out of my grass this summer.
I have a neighbor who hangs his dogs blanket on our fence and they all jump off into the grass and get all over my dog. Last year I tries to spray the fence but he put it where I could not reach it :(

My Little Garden

The pics did not come out as well as I had hoped, its still very overcast here today. I am not a “Great Gardener” with a limited budget we all know that is hard to do, but my little ones make me happy. Whenever I need some peace and calm I just pull up a chair next to them and read a nice book.

These two are my little space in the back

This is a small space I snagged out in the front

The name of the mountains here is the San Gabriel Mountain Range

Here is another pic from the camera, this shows the valley and the Pacific Ocean in the far background, that shiny thing the sun is reflecting on. It was taken on December 10, 2007
