I have not posted in a bit, still trying to get the upper hand on my inbox, but as I was just busy clicking away, I just looked out the window and saw this beautiful young black cat with the cutest one white foot in the back. I have had some extra cat food I was wanting to get rid of so I ran and got it and went outside to see if I could catch the cat before it left. Well I managed to get out and put down some food and this beautiful creature turned and looked at me and that is when I saw someone had horribly mutilated this poor creature, its face had been burned and its missing an eye, and the eye that is there is very cloudy and hazy. I was a bit stunned at first, I keep forgetting how cruel people can be. These wounds are apparently old ones. So anyway I called Kitty Cat because it would not come near me understandibly so, so I just kept calling it in a gentle voice, Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat and then it started to come to me so I put some food further near it so it could smell it, and then I carefully and quietly sat on the step. Kitty came over and ate some food very weary of me, I shook the bag of food and put down some more and kitty came and at some more and then came right up next to me and sat beside me. Its fur was so soft, when it allowed me to touch it. That one single moment was indeed one of the most beautiful moments in my life, as I sit here I am just in tears. I hope Kitty comes back to make friends. Needless to say my dog is a bit angry with me just at the moment, but he will be getting his fave food soon, to make up.

I live in the country and every summer people drop their pets on our road. A few years back, it was a beautiful young German Sheppard. One of our neighbor found it and went around asking about it. Finally he went to his veterinarian who recognized the dog and called the owner to let him know that his pet was found.
That person (being polite here) told the vet the dog was not lost:”I dropped it there because farmers will take care of it! That is what they do!”
He is obviously not the only one thinking this way! We have, every Summer, brought animals to the shelters. Some of them in really bad shape because they have a hard time fending for themselves!!

that brought tears to my eyes.
I’m surprised that the stopped and then came close to you. You are his little angel :)
“Those City folk” (not generalizing but labeling those who do not understand) think that the country is for dumping trash, unwanted animals and that “country folk” aren’t very smart and some “city folk” don’t know that people in the country have running water or hydro. (That last bit is taken from a conversation with someone directly. They asked how we heated our home and if we had hydro. They also asked what we did for showers. The “dumping” is strictly an observation.)

I teared up with your story. Being the cat lover I am. sniff sniff. aaahhh
I hope he comes back and you give him a good home that he deserves
Your dog will get used to him
There is a little trick to bring a new pet into the house so your presents pets won’t resent you or be angry with you
Don’t let your present pet see you bring the new pet into the house
Have someone outside your home bring the new pet in. Then your presnt pet can’t smell you right off the bat
I was told this by a pet trainer and I did this when I brought home my 3rd cat and it worked
God bless
