It is hard to think about posting in Garden Tenders when there is only dirt. Yes the dirt had been tilled and some rows of cooler veggy’s have been planted but it all still looks like dirt. Dirt, here on the high desert, looks like the stuff you see in western movies, that blowing stuff that is hard to dig but still is blowing in the wind somehow. Last night the winds were 48 MPH and the dust is still trying to settle.

A few hundred tumbleweeds have been gathered and burned or escaped in the wind before the torch could get to them. I think and envey those that have that black rich soil to grow anything in but then to there are miles of open space here where only rock, rattlesnakes and catus occupy and gardening is a REAL challenge. May everyone have the very best gardening year and I will try and keep this blog moving a little more throughout the growing season. PS Garden Tenders does not even show the planting zone I am in. : ) It will be a good year!

isn’t it interesting how something you can’t dig blows away in the wind.

Talk about challenges—you definitely have some challenges! Yikes.
