I posted a project on LumberJocks about a year and a half ago that is an outdoor bench made out of cypress wood.
I was out taking a couple of pictures of them today to update the LumberJock posting of how the benches have aged and I found these fungus around the bench.
There are three of them in this picture.
The one in front of the bench.
And at the back of the bench.
They are 18” to 2’ across. Does anyone have any idea what they might be. We’ve had them before. The weather has been very dry but we’ve been watering in the area.
Underneath where this fungus is growing was a stump of an oak tree that was 2’ across. I had the stump chewed up and so there is a lot of wood mixed in with the dirt in this area.

I don’t know anything about fungus but it could make a nice statement in a garden.
