Planted more greens

Yesterday I planted kale, swiss chard, and tat soi.

The best way to prepare kale, ever: Kale chips

Wash and dry the kale leaves. Tear the leaves into bite-size pieces, and put these in a bowl. Don’t include the stem. Sprinkle about a tablespoon each of olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the leaves, and mix until they are all coated. Sprinkle sea salt, to taste, on the leaves.

Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper, and place the leaves in a single layer on the sheet. Bake at 400 F for about 20 minutes. The leaves should be nice and crispy – if they’re at all soggy, bake them a little longer.

These things become addictive. When I make kale chips, they’re usually all gone within an hour of coming out of the oven. I’ve also made them with apple cider vinegar, pomegranate balsamic vinegar, or substituting the sea salt with different seasoning mixes and that’s good too.

Hi

I am glad to see you planted chard this early

I never did before not in this part of the world

I have never eaten kale, sounds good
I don’t plant peas no patience to shell them

What other veggies could I plant at this time in zone 5b??

We are about a month behind Ont if that helps give you an idea

Have you thought of planting snow peas? These pods are wonderful in a stir fry.

I read where beets are an early veggie to plant (seeds).
