These are 'Lazy Days in the Flower Garden'
Not much to do in the garden these last days of August. Dead-head a little here, pull a dried up weed there, and maybe prune some unruly plants getting too big and scraggly. But the butterflies are starting to show up, headed south for the winter. The parent hummers have left already and the juveniles are fighting for the sugar water in the feeders and practicing their aerobic maneuvers to strengthen their flying and endurance. The birdfeeders have different birds and the birds have different songs now…..their fall chorus….the crows, doves and sparrows. Many of the songbirds have left already for the south.
