My Feb Bloom
While we are all gearing up for starting seeds for summer blooms, here is a bloom that is doing it’s thing right now on a snowy Feb. day. While I have always called this type of plant a Christmas cactus,(schlumbergera bridgessi) there is a very similar plant called an Easter cactus (rhipsalidopus gaetnerii). But even though this one is blooming closer to Easter, I still believe it’s a Christmas cactus. My other plant, which is huge also has a couple blooms on it. Perhaps the weather has them as confused as it has the rest of us :-) Here’s what it looks like out my front door today….................................thank goodness for indoor blooms!
