Got your coffee?? Did I make it right; enough cream, sugar?? Would you like to see a bit of my front garden, everything is coming to life?!! I so love this time of year …
I am excited to see how much growth there will be from last season; as this will be our second summer in this house. All the plants, except the roses and Japanese Maple, were transplanted from small pieces of my most beloved plants from our old home.
We still need to add mulch to the bed, but I want to wait until everything is up good and far. Obviously I need to cover my soaker hoses … but they are in place and work!!! Check that off the list.
It will be so much fun adding to this bed this year … I cannot wait!!! Okay, enough talking, let’s walk a bit …
These are my Wild Geraniums. Just beginning to bloom. I planted them from bareroot last year.
Below is another shot of the Geraniums; to the right are my lovely pink Daylilies; to the left is a Twilight Hosta just breaking ground.
Below you can see one of my Weeping Tree Roses and the ground cover roses. Behind are my “blood red” Daylillies. Foreground is a peek of another Twilight Hosta breaking ground.
Below is one piece of the Sum and Substance Hosta that I brought over from our old house. There are a few others spread throughout the bed as well.
Below is a row of my Stella d’ Oro Daylilies. Can’t wait for them to bloom! They make a beautiful golden border down the driveway.
Below is our year old Red Japanese Maple Tree. Planted it last spring. I have Loyalist Hosta planted all around the tree, but they are barely up and a bit bashful of the camera LOL!!
And last, but not least is the little bit of spring color I added to our front porch. I enjoy sitting on the bench Hubby made for me last spring.

Nice Grandma, nothing but good times ahead around your place.
I like the way you have combined your plants.

Thanks for the kind words Bob! It’s a good start … was an interesting summer, coming from a house that I had been gardening at for over 30 years with 6 times the land to a (charming) little house with no gardens. Starting from total scratch has been fun (not sure Hubby would agree with that – LOL!!!). Truly looking forward to this summer and building on the foundation I have.

G’maT, the gardens look great! I can’t believe you’ve got room for more stellas, but if you still want ‘em, they’re yours!
BTW, my coffee wasn’t quite right…needs a little Irish flavor, if you catch my drift…

Glad you all “brought your own drink of choice” ... and enjoyed my little front garden. Maybe later this summer when everything is blooming we can take another walk through with something nice and cold in our glasses!! I’m so enjoying all your company!!!! :-)
Giggled when you asked to see the back Xploreorganics... the back right now is a sad place. I did very little work there last summer. And for the most part we are growing “concrete” there … LOL!!!! I do have ambitions for the patio this summer and will post pics as I get to it.
But I have to say I am pleased with the changes to our front yard/garden and my new side of the house Container Garden. It’s getting there and beginning to feel like home.
”D”, I figured I would plant a few of those Stellas in the Container Garden … what do you think? I think they will do really well there. Maybe I should only take 5 … how big are the pieces that you bringing? Guess that would help me determine what I could use. I so appreciate your offer …!!!

I’d say they are about the size of the clumps you have, maybe just a tiny bit bigger. Take ‘em all, we’re changing over to red daylilies this year!

“D”—Red ones ey!!! How pretty is that going to be!!! Okay, I’ll take them. I can always find a place for Stellas. Thanks!!!!
Greenthumb … I agree, gardens are a wonderful place and yes even on the worst day ever. Maybe that is why God put them here.
