My Container Gardens #5: Last two items ...

« Part 4: A little preview of things to come ... Part 5 of My Container Gardens series Part 6: Need opinions ... »

Have found the last two items for my Container Garden. Both of course will need to be “attended to”. The rusty milk jug needs to be refinished. I bought a Black Mat Finish to spray on it and depending on how ambitious I feel I might decopague a few flowers in some sort of border. The chair needs a hole cut into the seat (thanks Hubby!!!) so that I can drop a pot filled with flowers in it. I am going to leave it white …

I have been so anxious to begin this Container Garden, that I went ahead and placed a few of my “finds” in the rocks and planted a few Pansies. The Pansies will be nice till the heat and sun really arrive. Then I will need to replant those containers. Not sure the containers will stay in those places when all is said and done … but it allowed me to envision how the bed will all come together.

Below is a photo of the garden thus far and my two newest finds.

Photo below is the rusty milk jug

And last, below is the old white spindle back chair

It’s already so much prettier than all that plain gravel!

Thanks everyone!!
The milk can is YEARS old, just remembered that I had it (of all things!) ... The chair originally came with a cute little table that I was (someday) gonna refinish. Never got around to that, but kept the chairs. I think that pot of flowers will look really cute in that chair.

Can’t wait to see all of your containers when you get them all finished. I love my pansies I wish I could keep them all summer but they can’t last. When their time is up you may want to try something like New Guinea impatiens they look great in containers and bloom all summer into fall.

Thanks Louise for the suggestion … but I think I get too much heat and sun for the New Guinea Impatiens, even though they take more sun than the “other” Impatiens. I may do some Wave Petunia’s, Zinnia’s and hmmmmm, not sure what else.

Thank you Bon … since I decided not to paint the milk jug … all my items are now ready to be put outside. Now just need the weather to cooperate so I can arrange and pot all my containers and baskets. Ohhhhh, I can’t wait.

That little chair seems to be a “hit” ... got lots of comments on it from the neighbors. Although I am waiting for the the little 2 year old cutie-pie next door to sit in it; she’s been “eyeing” it up!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!
