Getting ready for the harvest begins today for me. Today after so long not posting anything I have cleaned my small plastic greenhouse (last week) and sown a few things:
3 Broad Beans
I made some paper pots for the cabbages and peas, short for the cabbages and long for the peas. The broad beans and chives are in plastic pots. Tomorrow I am hoping to sow more seeds, maybe tomatoes, spinach, foxgloves and maybe some others.
I have put it all down in a spreadsheet and am keeping tabs on all my seeds on there. Some have old use by dates but I’m going to see if any come good.
It’s a shame about last year’s parsnips they were doing very well. If only I knew who took nearly all of them!!! I only had one. They blame it on rats and other animals but I really can’t imagine that. Does anyone know what loves to neatly gnaw away a row of them?
This year I hope to protect everything. There was a parsnip underneath netting, with other things, the other day that I was really looking forward to but yesterday it looked like it had vanished too.
I can’t wait to get my own garden!
| hope 2013 is a good year for all of you.
