Well, I put another shot in the dark ad out on Freecycle for windows, followed by one for spoiled hay or straw.. Had two people email me back offering windows.. One of which actually works @ Pella.

Sooo… Between the two I’m hooking up with “two wood white interior painted and white exterior aluminum clad with muntin grids measuring 48×42” and “a bunch of old windows, wood, metal, storm”.

Now just have to see about setting up a time to pickup.

At this point I’ll take all I can get.. After all I need to build windows for the coop, so can easily make use of just glass.

Wow! I need some new windows . . . Does this Pella employee need a new friend? Nice find!

Oh the windows aren’t for the coop.. They’re for the greenhouse… Now.. The storm windows I may salvage the glass out of and cut it down, though.. :)

Besides, they won’t fit.. :D

New windows upstairs is on the list, right after insulating.

SWEEEEEET!!!! We have plans! :D :D

Lets now do the “we have plans” dance of joy… ;)

I just measured it off.. With those two windows (picking up this evening) and the one I already have.. I have enough to do one wall of the greenhouse.

Back wall will be solid insulated, so nothing much needed there.. Side walls need at least two windows each… And then the roof… The roof…. Hmmmm… I might build skylights after all.

Hehehe… :)

Just re-measured the big window.. It’s actually 6’ wide.

That would mean that along with framing, the greenhouse, with those two windows would be…. oh…. 14’ wide?

Yeah… Well wider than I need.

I’ll be using them on the SIDE of the building then.. :)

I went to go pick them up and they wouldn’t fit in my car. :( :(

I’m hoping the guy will keep ahold of them until I can get a hand picking them up.

I so wish I had a truck.. or a hitch… ARGH!

A greenhouse . . . excellent idea Scott !!!

Cant wait to follow your blog. Why not start with picking up the windows. It will be good for a laugh or two . . . especially seeing the look on the police officer’s face as the pull you over and you open the screen on the window so you can pass out your drivers license. :-)

LOL… That’s half a thought… When I was looking at them, they almost look tinted.. Think it was the low E coating.. I’m sure he’d get me for having tinted windows, too.. :D

Oh geesh… I just got this from the OTHER person who offered windows..

”smallest are probably around 2’x2’ (wood clad) and the largest around 5’ wide and 6’ tall (storm window). There must be around 30 complete windows though the double hungs are now separated making for more like 40-50… You can have as many as you’d like.”

It’s like the window motherload… :D I think I’m going to apologize to the guy since I won’t be able to pick them up any time soon and go with this woman. Besides, she lives in the same town as my in-laws, which means I don’t have to ask the FIL to trace all over looking for windows.. :)

well, at least you tried to get those first windows. It’s not like you were a “no show”.

Of course, you could get them ALL and packrat them.. I mean store them away.. for future uses ;)

True… I could do that… ;)

I don’t think I need that many windows though..

Heck, with as many as she says she has, I could do the coop [instead of building them], the greenhouse AND the garden shed all in one shot.
