I just love fall mums and all the varying colours.
The pink ones were cut from my garden as they were getting quite floppy.
I purchased the pot of yellow mums … just because!
I have these sitting on a wooden chair by the front door. They are so cheery when I get home from work.

Thanks, CraftyGardener.

I think I made a serious mistake with some of my mums. Before I left for Europe a month ago, some of the new mums I planted were looking rather bedraggled, so I trimmed off the flowers hoping to get a burst of new blooms. When I returned home, the mums look healthy, but there is not a single bud to be seen. My old familiar mum has millions of buds on it, and is ready to burst into colour. Should I have left the new ones alone and not trimmed, or were they just a bad investment.

I find that Mum’s don’t rebloom once their “cyle” is done … one year I planted Mum’s rather early, had lots of buds and blooms. Well, they did infact bloom (beautifully I might add) ... early … and while I waited for new buds to appear, now that everyone else’s Mum’s were blooming … they never did.

I think you will have to wait for next year to see these particiular Mum’s bloom again.

That’s what I figured. Oh well, at least there is greenery….mixed in with the other flowers.

I don’t think your mums will bloom this year jroot. But I bet you will have a bigger, healthier plant next year.
