I love gardening and crafting ... hence my name Crafty Gardener.
My Canadian gardening zone is 5b. The gardens are mainly perennials but I do grow lots of annuals in seeds in my "pot garden" and some tender plants like cannas and callas. The main garden has a southern exposure so it gets very hot and dry.
I love creating "garden architecture" out of used items. I will plant in just about anything ... from old pots, old wheelbarrows, old washing machine tubs and more. My motto is that if it holds dirt I can plant in it.

I woke up to a very heavy frost this morning, but ventured outside with my camera and tripod to take some frosty photos of the milkweed plant. These photos were taken with my other digital camera, an Olympus SP 55OUZ using the macro setting. ...
For a few mornings we have been waking up to frost. But when the sun comes up it makes everything sparkle. Walking on the deck and down the steps became a slow step by step process as it was slippery. Holding onto the railing going d...
For a couple of mornings we had some gorgeous red skies, which prompted me to remember the old saying; The first morning the sky was brilliant red but the second had layers of clouds which made the colouring very interesting.
