I can't wait!
Off to Charlottesville this morning to take the two pups to get fixed, then back home to mow grass for 6 hours (not ours), do laundry and get some sort of supper ready for the table. Back to Charlottesville to pick the pups up at 5. Tomorrow I hav...

Welcome to GT, Chris. If you are from Virginia, I gather that your land is ready for planting now. Would that be correct? I am from Canada, where it definitely is NOT ready. We will have to wait another 2 months for most crops. What is your favourite type of gardening? Feel free to jump right in to the discussions. Photos are always appreciated. :)

Hi, jroot and thanks for the welcome. :0) Yes, we are heading into planting season here. I learned to garden from my grandmother and grandfather, who were old fashioned gardeners. You know, plant what will grow and what you like. So, that’s my style of gardening. I plant what I like and what I think will grow. Very casual and laid back. I live on a heavily wooded lot with a few sunny spots, so that kind of dictates what I can grow also. I will take some photos here today. I’m headed out to plant a few forsythia in my forsythia bed and move some hostas before the rain comes in later today.
What type pf gardening do you do in Canada? How long is your growing season? I read your profile and want to check out your projects and such later today. That birdhouse on your profile page is really neat!
