I love to garden and have been gardnering for about 25 years on 4 acres, 2 acres in garden, enough for me
I live in a small rural area just min from town with my 4 cats, Mickey, Nickey and Gibbons and my stray from last year, Percy which recused and I adpoted
I am a grandmom of 3 grown chilldren, 2 daughters and one son. I have 4 young grandsons who I love with my heart and soul. I just wish they lived closer to me. Grandmom gets lonely without them
I do work full time with investments so most of my work is evenings when people are home.
Spring is slow this year. But I can't wait til it gets warmer
so dirt here I come , all 10 fingers and 10 toes of me. lol,lol

Hey Bunting,
What does the NS stand for? Nova Scotia?
Anyway, we do have a lot of fun and we are very lucky that we have some very knowledgeable people here.

Hi
Yes NS means Nova Scotia. Birth place of New Scottland. A lot of great history in my area and a great place to visit and to live.

We got flurries yesterday morning … and two days ago it was 70 (F) degrees. CRAZY weather here in Michigan. But at least, consistently, it seems to be getting warmer. The sun is shining today, so I’ll take that and “run with it” ...
Look forward to seeing your gardens …

Welcome to GT !!
this video from our other site, LumberJocks.com shows how to embed a picture in a blog.. (the video is for another challenge at LJ.com but the picture stuff is all the same! Hope that helps).
And pictures for projects can be uploaded straight from your computer.
have fun. Looking forward to seeing your gardens.

Well here goes with posting a pic
This is a small part of the swimming pool I filled in 2 sumemrs ago
I was in an accident Christmas day 2000 so ended up in a wheelchair for 4 1/2 years then 2 years to learn to walk
Since I am now disabiled somewhat and can’t bend over well or get down on the ground my joints now don’t work well and I just bend over to garden for a shot while at a time
I hope this posts

Welcome to this forum “Butterfly”, nice to see you here as Bunting. It’s there in your photobucket account and link. This forum unlike the other ones you are used to, does not take the [img] tags.
You will have to do it this way !your photo link in this space!. So start with an exclamation and end with an exclamation. How is the safari browser and Mac holding up? Enjoy the forum Carolyn and don’t forget

Bunting … beautiful garden photos!!! And your lilies are gorgeous.
There is a Lilium (Lily) called “Black Beauty” that is a beautiful raspberry pink color … but not sure that is the color pink you want.
I am truly, truly sorry to hear the loss of your friend … my heart goes out to you and your friend’s family.

Sorry to hear you did not sleep well last night … shingles are so painful. Hope you do begin to feel better soon!
I have found that there are wonderful people here who have an unbelievable amount of gardening knowledge … and they all love to share their wisdom and stories! But with 25 years worth of gardening, I bet you know a thing or two as well … look forward to chatting, picking your brain a bit and seeing your gardens.
Feel better Bunting …

You pick my brain all you want. I am sure I can learn a thing or 2 off the rest of you too
I find it is a topic one can always learn something
Just like I just posted, not sure where but it was in a jokes room
I had new neighbours move in a few year ago
They never gardened before. Even his 35 year old son didn’t know where carrots came from. This family never saw a veggie garden before They weren’t from Nova Scotia
before I knew it , he had 100lbs of potatoes planted and 100 tom plants
I didn’t buy one potaote, cabbage or turnip that winter and neiher did the neighbours. I had enough toms in the freezer to do me a year and I eat a lot of them
They knew nothing about eyes in pot . They had turnips, carrots cabbage everything you could think of
yes they did have a large lot 2 acres. it was my first house when I was young so I knew the property well
They did enjoy themselves and I didn’t dare laff in front of them. They were so proud of themselves and I had to give them a huge E for effort. They did have a beautiful garden that is for sure
The next Spring I found myself teaching veggie gardening lol,lol
Oh it was fun lol,lol
cheers carolyn

Hi
You sound interesting Damouches. NS tartan has a lot of very pretty blue. Representing the Atlantic as we are surrounded by it, almost an island
My youngest daughter and her 4 yr old son just had their pic done in the NS tartan
They are very nice pic
NS landscape is very much like Scotland. The rivers, lakes and mountians and so green
So when the Scots came here, they named this place New Scotland meaning Nova Scotia in Gaelic
I live very close by the Atlantic historic town where the new Scots and British arrived by the ship Hector in the 1700’s
Other than natiives, they were the first white people ever landed in this beautiful province.
Many Americaans and Germans come here and buy land and settle. I know they are looking to settle here now
I had thoughts of advertising my place for sale on the web. It’s much too big for me to look after alone any more
may people come here for the hsistoy of their fore fathers

see the foot prints in the snow
This is at 8 am one morning. A neghibour came to visit for her T as she walks 15 km each am
On her way back home she drops in here
she is 74 and looks 50 I am not kidding. Many 40 year old would love to have her legs. Her young attitude keeps her young

I love lillies
This is anew double I bought 2 weeks ago
I bought 4 in the past 2 weeks and ordered 2 more today
The lillie proudcer just lives about 7 kms from me
so I phone to see if he has this one or that one then he holds them till I get there
Muscade and Robina he is holding for me now
At his prices I can’t help myself. I am addicted to lillies and have to buy more soil and make another bed. I have over 30 kinds now and counting so about 80 throughout the gardens here and there.
But then there is over 8000 different ones on the market. some I will never buy as some are over $100 just for one and even $150.00 each I have seen. Beautiful but not for me
$3.75 in bloom but when they finish blooming $3.00. The doubles were 2 for $8.00 but no tax
