Part 1: They Are Still Not Here Yet
My Jasmine, I read online they should bloom around MidSpring. I am so impatient about it. The Violets have a million little buds, since I got all the grass out of the pots. I suspect they should bloom anyday now. I am wondering why though my mini Rose is not doing anything. I will have to look that up today.
Part 2: My Plans This Week
Well I have one full white bud on the Jasmine, any day now. Still keeping the weeds under control, which is getting a bit hard, everyday there just seems to be more. I am planning on doing some more cleaning, just some minor usual cleaning. I intend to plant my Moon Vines and Lavender. While I was looking thru my gardening journal I found some packets of Wild Flower seeds, I can’t even imagine how old they are but I will sprinkle them around and maybe put some in some pots and see if anything...
Part 3: Oh My, They Are HERE
Only two little ones way in the center, the sun has not come over there yet, but when it does I will go and take a pic. When I went out this morning, I saw some white color deep inside of the plant. Then I went to look and they had just opened, they are still not fully opened. :D I am so excited. I feel like a little kid. A nice St Patricks Day present. When they open more and the sun is over there, I will post their first pic. <div> Weath...

Part 5: Many More Today
I thought there would only be one or two more Jasmines today, I went out this morning and there were about 10 or 15. My Azalea is looking a bit down though. I am wondering now if it was a good idea to pot it, in the first place. Its always only just had a few blooms :( Plans are still on for Friday and more planting. One day soon I gotta get into the store and look for some more plants, I would like to get some other colored Geraniums, I just wish those smelled nicer. Its a lovely ...
Part 6: Welcome Spring
Well its finally here, the first day of Spring. My plans are still underway, but when it gets a bit warmer outside. It got cold last night, but I still had the fan out. I suppose only in these kind of areas can you still be using your electric blanket and a fan :D I got some more film, will be taking some more pics. The other plants I have are not that much in bloom yet, when it all gets full and bloomed later on I will get some pics then, for now later I will get some of my favorite ...
Part 7: My Little Babies
Again not very good pics and I suppose in general its a bit shabby, as my charming neighbor said to me today. I only have limited space so I can only do so much. The gardens I have seen here are so lovely. Anyway most of them I grew from seed or cuttings, my Jasmine they were almost dead when I broght them home, there were other healthy stronger ones but once you touch a plant, well for me anyway, they come home. I felt bad for them so I got them, that was last year. I love each and e...
Part 8: Windstorm & Rain
The weather here was wild the other day, power has been out for a bit, everything is a mess. Leaves and Pine needles all over. Got some cleaning to do for a bit, luckily no pots blew over, lost a little soil but replaced that. I have lived here a while and never really seen a storm like that, the wind was hot and cold at the same time, there were cells of rain, the sky had huge dark clouds and you could see the lighting inside, actually it was quite something to see, the dark cloud all of ...
Part 9: Off Tommorow
To get some more plantees :DI will most likely get some Petunias and something already established, not sure what. I never have any luck with Cyclamen, and I just LOVE the way they smell but they just never do well for me. Got some bad news about my mine Rose, not sure what happend, its dying. I kept the bugs off, only sprayed it once, I keep wondering if it wasn’t the spray mixture I found that did it. :(I suppose you win most and lose some. On to happier thoughts, I may also get ...
Part 10: Yesterday
Did not go well, I was kinda on a time schedule, and when I got to the store, the truck with all the plants had just pulled in behind me. I went inside and, straight to the garden department and it was completely empty, except for some potting soil. I was devastated, I asked the guy that was just wondering around in there when they will come in. He said well the truck won’t be unloaded for another 2 hours. Well I just didn’t have 2 hours, so I pouted all thru the store think...
Part 11: A Bud
There is a new bud on the little Rose I had given up on. All the leaves are yellow and spotted, I will be cutting those today, there is a tine green leaf under the little bud. The aphids have already found it, nasty things they are. I have started a garden album, I dug out my pictures from last year and I recovered an old photo album I found deep in the closet. So I also took a picture of the mountains here. I just wanted to show you all what the mountains look like from ground level...
Part 12: Here They Are
My little ones, as usual I still don’t take good pics. I am still waiting on some funds for the digital camera that I want. So anyway, here is the Mint and Violets, they have not done much but just started to sprout little leaves, I moved my Azalea so it would get only part sun and it has picked up quite nicely, I think its past blooming time for them. The ones in the front are the 3 that I did this morning, I decided not to do the other Azalea just yet, I need a bigger pot for it. ...
Part 13: Forgot To Mention
The lone little squirrel, thats Momma met with a cat and well. Anyhow when I was out there filling the pots with the soil and getting it all ready to replant I heard this noise in the tree above me and lo and behold there it is but this time, I presume its a girl, she had 2 friends. It was so darling I wish I had my camera with me, though they would not have stood still long enough. They were all 3 on the roof, they can hop from tree to roof, they were 3 tiny heads just staring at me, I h...
Part 14: Not Much Going On
The sun finally made an early appearance today, so I was out most of the day weeding the grass in the pots and what not, it takes no time for that to start growing. My little delicates, the Dianthus and Ice Plant, seem to be doing OK they are still pretty wilted but only one leaf has gone brown so I am thinking that they will take. My Jasmine has turned a shade of yellow, not sure why, it does not look good, I will fertilize it tommorow. There are many new shoots on it, I am thinking it ...
Part 15: 4 O Clock's
Well its been too long since I have blogged here or anywhere, just been still sitting with the doctor. Anyway my Jasmine I think is finished, I am not sure why, it has tremedous amount of brown on it, but its still shooting new leaves and sprouts, when the weather cools down a bit I may go and do some dead heading. All the rest of the flowers are doing lovely. The transplants of the Trailing Ice Plant and Dianthus are doing just brilliant. Honestly I am thinking the Dianthus will bloom be...
Part 16: Decision Made
The heat is definatly here, so my activites are limited to night time and very early morning. I have moved some of my plants back into the patio in the shade. As to my decision, the “Honeysuckle”, it will be 3 weeks come this Saturday and it has not yet shown roots, just what I still believe to be mold. This Saturday I will be getting rid of it. I also collected my first seed of the 4 O clocks – the Fuschia colored ones – so when I get a chance I am going to get ...
Part 17: First Dianthus Bloom
Well its been a while since I posted, been too hot to do much of anything except try to keep my plants alive. Some seem to thrive on this horrid heat. My Dianthus that I transplanted from the front to a pot in the back has a tiny bright pink bud deep inside the the green. I just knew it would sprout before the Summer was out but even I did not expect it to be this soon, I gues they really know when you love them. My Jasmine, well the more I water it, considering its not a real water lover...
Part 18: Mom Is Always Right
Never let it be said again, Mother’s don’t know EVERYTHING. I was going to throw out the “Honeysuckle” I got a while back, I was just this side of throwing it away, I told my Mom and she insisted I kept up with it but if I was tired of it to put it outside. Well I did and do you know sure enough there is a significant growth on one of the joints of it, I mean this thing is huge. I can’t wait to tell her.
Part 19: Here Again
Well its been a while, things have not been so good. Anyhow though my plants are doing very well, I have been finding alot of broken up cactus around on my walks with my Dog, so naturally I have been getting poked silly by bringing them home and planting them but they are all doing well. I have also decide to give a whirl to planting Morning Glories and Moon Vines outside my bedroom window and in the front yard, not sure how everyone who lives here will feel about that but once they get est...
Part 20: Windy Days
Well we survived thru the first real big wind of the season, all the ash blew off the mountains and I have spent all morning blowing it away. Lots of my little plantees broke but I suppose that is good in a way, I replanted them all so there will be more. I suppose the ash is still good for them, not good for the sinuses though. I am pooped out for the day, I am planning to cut down the roses soon, but I need to figure out just when to do it. Right now they have new shoots and beautiful l...
Part 21: Got 2 Babies
I was in the store today and picked up 2 new miniature roses, I never had luck with them in the house so they are going outside again. The ones I had before never smelled but these 2 are just reaking all thru the house, not sure why. One is my favorite deep dark red and the other is a lighter pink color. Still no bare root roses yet but I am sure they will be coming soon. :)
Part 22: Results Of My Experiments
Hello all, been a while I know but I just wanted to wait a while and see what would happen with the Moon Vines. Well more sprouted than last time in all of the soil I put them in, the potting soil sprouted 3, the mixed soil sprouted 2 and the plain soil sprouted 1. The one in the water did not do anything so I decided to just go ahead and put it in the mixed soil. I do believe the key is getting the seed soft enough for it to sprout out of. I think that soaking them for more than just o...
Part 23: I Think
I will go out on a limb, LOL, and say that I have won against the Squirrel. Someone had asked me about the soda bottle Bird feeder, I will provide a pic when it looks nicer, right now I am in the test stage and it looks-not so nice, not that it will look any better later. Anyhow though, when I get done with the juice bottle I have now I will use that one. I will describe how I did it. I got the idea off the Internet, I took a 2 litre soda bottle put 2 / 3 or 4 inch holes on both sides {...
Part 24: Day 3 Of Victory & Pic Of Bird Castle
Well its been 3 days and I will claim a total win. The Squirrel tried several times yesterday and could not get it, so when I finished up my juice I put a hole thru the bottom and pulled the yarn on thru and hung it on the tree. I will be making more of these once I get some more bottles emptied. Here is a pic of my masterpiece, not much to look at but it does the job I can sit and watch the birds.
