Most of my seeds sprouted to some extent.
I think I used to get better germination in the past.
Yesterday I transplanted about 36 tomato plants and several dozen other varieties.
pics to follow.
There is a lone pink petunia blooming in the greenhouse. – Beauty!
It’s snowing agian today.
So much to do so little time.
I ordered heritage tomato seeds yesterday just in time for next year. :-(

I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL REFERENCES TO PETUNIAS FLOWERING ARE THESE SOME KIND OF PERANNUAL AS THEY MUST HAVE OVERWINTERED IN A COLD CLIMATE THAT I THINK YOU PEOPLE HAVE.
I GROW PETUNIAS WHICH ARE ANNUALS FOR SUMMER BEDDING AND THEY ARE JUST ABOUT AT THE FIRST PAIR OF TRUE LEAVES STAGE. MY PETUNIAS BOTH BUSH AND PENDULAS WILL GO OUT IN EARLY TO MID MAY WHEN OUR FROSTS HAVE FINISHED AND WILL FLOWER FOR JUNE TO LATE SEPTEMBER ( WITH DEAD HEADING CARE )
SO SET ME RIGHT ON THIS ONE HOW DO YOU GROW YOUR PETUNIAS BOB.

Mike I should have mentioned that this “loner” was a voluntier that hitched a ride on a pot I brought in last fall as a seed. I often harvest seed before winter and this one must have found a home.
I didn’t notice it until last week and planted it by itself in a pot and off it went.
It was already to bloom when I discovered it.
As for the rest of the petunias, they are at the same stage as yours and I am just begining to transplant them.
I hope I can get them to bloom early because I always seem to get the colours mixed up at some part of the journey.
Cheers

Well this a a pleasant surprise!
My heritage seed about and hour ago.
Great service from the vendor and the post office.
Curiosity killed the cat so I am goint to attempt to grow some of these babies this year.
6-8 weeks puts me into June and that’s pushing it around here but It’s a game anyway.
Cheers

Well my heritage seeds have popped up so I stand a slim chance of getting a crop off them this year.
Oddly, the germination was around 90% . Much higher than I have been getting from the store bought types.
We are another week from transplanting these babies:

GT, this year I don’t care if the results aren’t perfect but I did want ot grow some to get an idea of how they will work for me next year when I have 2 foot plants to put out in my square foot gardens.
I have a secret recipe for amending the soil for tomatoes so we shall invoke this curse on them come may 24th!
I will keep you posted.
