Missed posting some yesterday.. I’ve got one from yesterday in this batch but the other has not re-bloomed yet, so will catch a snap of it later.
This is one of the butterfly flowers I got in from Spring Hill.
The Nandina is blooming nicely along the front walk.
I’ve got the lilies in the ground at the front foundation that I’d been working on.. Still have some more plants to put in and need to mulch it up.
And lastly, a shot of the Golden...

Well, after spending the winter with a hole in it, only filled 1/3rd of the way up I decided to patch the pond. Took it out and looked it over, found one spot where a large root cracked the liner, and two other dents that I needed to reinforce.
Since I put in the dog door through the wall of the dog room, I had some window flashing left. The kind with the silver foil face and tar backing that sticks to anything? A few squares of that and a bit of heat from a torch and it was all patched up...

This morning in my “thinking time” an idea came to me: I wonder if anyone in SW Ontario would like to do a fieldtrip to ‘Canning Perennials when it opens up. I’ve never been there (even though it is only 1/2 hour from my home) and this year is the year for me to stop by.

They were just begging to have “their” picture taken … so pretty and “sparkling” in the afternoon sunlight.
Gaillaridas are also called Blanket Flowers. They need well drained soil and plenty of sun. “Oranges and Lemons” are very prolific. They can handle poor soil conditions, summer humidity and winter cold.18-24” high x 15-18” wide; Perennial in zones 5-9.

I’d actually done this in my 75 gallon aquarium before we moved. Had a live filter set up which fed plants along the whole back of the tank and then spilled back into the water.
I may build another system some time and play around with herbs so I can have some fresh year round.
Anyway, thought you’d like this video.
Here’s a few OLD shots of my tank set up with the hood I built on top. You can see the plants on the right side.. This was ver. 1 of my top filter. Wa...
