Our Christmas Tree: I’m sure I could win a prize for the oddest Christmas tree, yet it suits us just fine, is non-toxic and environmentally friendly. I hate to cut wild trees down for the sake of a few weeks of enjoyment…Just today we went for a hike up a mountain we love to go. And standing on the edge of an old farm field was the remains of what was, just a few days ago a beautiful perfect fir tree that stood alone. Seems somebody thought it would look good in their living r...
Dec 23, 2008 It’s still snowing here in SW Ontario. How much snow have we had, you ask?? Well, perhaps this picture will give a hint. ... There are the “Post Family” ... Com, Emily, and Canada. Poor little Canada, his nose is just barely above the snow.
I just wanted to take a moment to say Merry Christmas to everyone. For those who don’t celebrate Christmas have a very Happy Holiday.Eat lots of that festive meal, bring joy to others and please drive safely.

My winter garden is finally taking off. I’ve planted collards, cabbages, broccoli. The broccoli has small heads forming, but the cabbage looper worms have attacked all the plants. I spent part of the day yesterday picking off the caterpillars and spraying with BT. Our weather has been unusually warm (up into the 70’s for several days), so the insects haven’t been killed off by the cold. Hopefully the plants will rebound and I’ll still make a good crop. I’ll...
My family & I spent the first weekend of December in Williamsburg,VA. We try to go a few times per year, but we’d never been there during the Grand Illumination weekend. The colonial houses are decked out in their greenery (no Christmas trees then), with beautiful door wreaths, swags and wreaths on gates and windows…just beautiful! On the evening of the Grand Illumination (Sunday), cressets were placed outside of each building and lit, there were various musical groups, the Fi...
I just finished putting up all the garlands for Christmas, and I had a few little flowers that wanted to come out and have their picture taken so I obliged them. Kinda fuzzy in parts but I am not so good with the camera. :) The sky looks like its about to open up and minute. They should like that
They say the weather is coming, so my plants will be glad to know that, its gotten very cold. I like to use pics from various webcams around here in Southern California but it seems that lately all my favorite ones are down but here is a pic from the Los Angeles one showing the clouds coming in. Perfect opportunity to light up candles and cuddle up inside.
Today is a wonderful almost warm day, so I let my dog out to take the afternoon sun and he came back in coated in sap from the Pine tree in the back yard, so I will be spending the evening getting that out.
