I took some photos of my progress so far for the year, I still have more plots to fill in more beds to plant.this was a great day for planting the temperature was about 80°f and I couldn’t wait to get started.

Well it’s time for me to start filling my pots I have quite a few started already I’m working Coleus pots right now. I found some new colors that I’m planting right now is called (SEDONA)and of course I have my old favorites, I’m saving a couple pots for new colors.
These are some of my coleus pots I have already filled ,I tried to keep the pots looking full so I plant at least three plants per pot. Later in the season they will completely fill the pot.

Well Day 5 of the deck build had me starting on the Light poles. I made a wooden tube that was about 5 3/4” on each side.
Three sides are glued together and the forth side will be attached with stainless trim screws, which have a smaller head. They have square drive.
The posts are 8’ long and are 83” above the deck to the top of the wooden post. In the uphill side the post is about 12” in the ground. One the downhill side the post is on top of the ground, but...

Well it looks like I will have a good amount of flowers after all on the various sarracenia out there. In fact, it looks like nearly all the mature growth points will have buds. S. flava (and hybrids with it) look to be showing bud first. I’ve also seen some on oreophila aswell as a few unidentified ones. I was rather surprized to see that a particular plant/clone (no id) is producing buds in pairs. I always thought they were singles per growth point.

I had to go to town today so i made a couple other stops and did some garden shopping :D 1) I bought some blue pansies to put in my “frog pond” flower bed—3 metal frog sculptures surrounded by the blue pansies which looks like water if you use your imagination.

Well day 4 was productive, just not on the deck.
About 1 week ago I was in the office in the shop and I heard a loud hissing. I went to find out what it was. The safety unload valve was dumping air from the air compressor tank. The compressor was running and it was not shutting off.
The safety valve was doing what it was suppose to do. Keep air compressor parts from flying all over the shop. Some how, some way the contacts welded shut on the shutoff switch. I moved the lever down to shu...

Thought I’d start my blog with what my garden looks like today. I’m doing a permaculture style garden where I have many plants spred around instead of using rows. This is my raised bed garden. You can see more pics of it on my profile.
Here is a picture of my permaculture style planting. You can see carrots, a cabbage, lettuce and a pepper plant inbetween two tomato plants. It does cut down on weeds.

I planted some strawberry plants today: 25 “sapphire” varieties. I had wanted Redcoats (as that is what we grew on the farm when I was young but the place I ordered them from no longer grew them).
I put them around the border of the last garden I created. I plan on planting my pepper plants in the middle.

There have been a few mentions of plant labels made out of this or that on the site so I thought I’d toss mine up.
Since the ferns that I ordered survived and are starting to pop up I thought I’d make better labels for them rather than just having the bad buried in the ground for future ID.
I made these out of the left over blind slats from an aluminum blind that’s in the bathroom. Since it’s metal, it will last dang near forever.
