Finally after what seams to be an eternaty, my first (of hopefully many) pitcher plant flower has opened! Once the petals began to droop it took a couple days for it to fully open like it is now. Nice rich red colour to, the flash alters it some.I should also mention that big fat pitcher this plant also had is now open also. Looks like its the tip of the ice berg at this point… several of the flava flowers have begun to open, maybe by mid week I will have some more photos for you all. L...

Well, here’s some more things I need to get done..
Father In-Law dropped off this big holly today that he’d dug up.. Said if I could use it.. Told him I can always find a use.. It’ll be going in the front yard somewhere which will have a bed built around it.
Some odd moth hanging to a basket in the front yard.. Thought it was pretty.
I’ve got the supplies in that I need to make the screen for in front of the power box.
Happy Sadie Grace, watchin...

I’m trying to get this thing finished up.. I know that the only thing holding me back is the lack of mulch.. I REALLY need to get a dump ordered so I can move forward..
I’ve got my daughter coming in this next month though, so most likely going to wait until she gets here so she can help out.
Anyway, here’s the latest.. The right side has almost all the cardboard on it I’m going to put down.. I’ve still got a little fill in I’ll be doing with smaller ...

Yes, indeed – the garden is in. It’s not completely finished (that will be done tomorrow) but the majority is done. Woo hoo.. Finally.
That’s it.. short and sweet—and no pictures. We’re off to bonfire night at my brothers. See you tomorrow!!

Rick and I were watching a cooking show and a delicious looking dish was created that just got our mouths watering. So, adapting the recipe to use what I had on hand this is what I came up with:
1. heavily butter a cake pan (so frittata will come out easily after cooking) 2. put a bunch of spinach in the bottom (lots)—I have several spinach plants that came up from last year and I was able to get enough young leaves to do the trick3. add layer of chopped (boiled) potato4. add layer o...
